Sheng had finally climbed the top of the stairs in search for Avira. They were both 12 years old and had known each other for almost three years. Normally when a princess is in search for her servant she is either frustrated at the horrible job the servant did, or is in need of some more service. Sheng was never looking around for Avira for such a thing, because they had established that Sheng was independent and didn't need a servant, but only wanted a friend. This was why she was climbing the top of the stairs in search of Avira, because they were friends, but also because they were playing hide and seek. However Avira had decided it was hide and spook.
Sheng had just planted her foot on the top step and removed her hand from the railing, when in a flash of pure exuberance Avira jumped right out in front of Sheng from behind the wall to the left and their noses almost grazed. "Rahhhh!!!" she screamed. "Ahh!! Sheng screamed as she fell backward. Luckily Avira was so close to Sheng that she grabbed the hem of her dress in one hand, and had Sheng's hand in the other. Sheng had also clutched onto Avira, who was bracing herself so as not to fall, with one hand and put the same hand back on the railing. They both caught their balance and Avira pulled Sheng back up the steps, and they fell down on the ground at the top of the steps into each others arms. They breathed for a moment and then Avira started convulsing with laughter. Sheng was not in the mood to laugh. She instead got up and looked down the stairway, which composed of about 2 flights of stairs which she had just climbed, if she had fallen she would have most certainly died, or worse her face would have been mutilated and no boy would ever fall in love with her.
"That was like 6 or 7 years ago, just trust me." Avira peered into Sheng's soul, realizing what Sheng must have been thinking about.
"Okay. Okay. Show me already." Sheng was then yanked around to see the other side of the hedge. Her eyes grew to be ten feet tall.
"Surprise!" The crowd of the most splendid and beautiful women were standing right in front of a large gazebo that was sparkling white as the rays of the sun danced upon it. There were tables set up with tea cups and biscuits of every sort set against the railing. "Happy birthday!" They all shouted in unison, Avira joining them this time.
Sheng's mouth fell open, as all the girls went inside the gazebo, Avira pulled Sheng with her into it and set her down at a table at what seemed to be the back. She didn't remember there being a gazebo in this pasture just in off the lake. The lake was about 5 yards or so away, glistening in the sun stretching out miles before her. She wanted to go and jump into it, that would be all the happy birthday she could ask for, however Avira always had her plans
As Sheng peered out on the lake that stretched out from the other exit of the gazebo, she heard music start pouring into the gazebo. She looked round and found a three piece band were stepping up onto the platform of the gazebo, one man with a violin, one man with a harp, and one with a flute. They began playing and then she noticed that all her friends were in some formation and had started dancing ballet. It was fantastic as she saw all the women pliƩd and spun, eventually jumping in sync with the music as if they were the three piece band playing the music with their movements. Avira was in the forefront always with the spotlight on her, even though there was never really a spotlight for her. Her movements were so angelic and graceful and so perfect. Sheng had always wanted to learn the ballet, but she had tried and couldn't get it. She figured it must be due to the limitations of her kind, whatever kind that she was.
She at least knew the dances and predicted Avira's movement until the finale that was something Sheng had never seen before. She clapped and hummed along with the music unsure of whether to cry, to jump up and hug her wonderful friends, or explode into a puffy cloud and float away to piece. She was just so happy, she didn't know what to do, but of course she broke her promise and her eyes became the lip of a waterfall.

Chapter 1 Part 2
Sheng a second later pulled Avira into her arms. She felt overwhelming joy and squeezed her tighter.
"Sheeeeng...I...can't...breeee..." Avira tried to speak.
"Oh sorry." Sheng let her go, but then pulled Avira's cheek to her face. "I love you."
"Uh, Sheng you know I'm not like that right?"
"No, no, no! I mean..." Sheng folded her hands together, staring at them.
Avira just laughed. Then finally she said, "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me." She then winked at Sheng.
"No, I'm not...one of those...what do they call them?"
"A lesbo."
"Yeah I'm not that. I just..."
"I know, Sheng! Is it a secret, or can I go and tell the whole world?"
"Yes, I mean, no, wait...I don't know." Avira pulled Sheng into her arms to hug her.
"Stop fretting my mistress."
"Stop calling me that! Everyone will start thinking we're lesbos."
Avira loved laughing, and enjoyed seeing a smile on her mistresses face. It was hard for Sheng to laugh, but she enjoyed it so much when she finally let loose and let even a chuckle out.
Avira laughed grabbing her face, and Sheng chuckled, while she twirled a finger in her hair.
"Now what were we doing?" Avira finally said when she found her breath again.
"We were going to go down to the lake. There was something you wanted to show me."
"Oh, yes."
"Are you sure it's safe?"
"Oh, yes, don't worry my missss Sheng."
Sheng gave her the mean eye.
"What? That's what I meant to say, just playing with you, my silly Sheng."
"I'm not silly." Her head was turned to her favorite tree. It was a giant tree, that was like a gigantic balloon at the end of the treetrunk that seemed more like a string. It was impressive how skinny the trunk was compared to how far the branches and the trees stretched out over the ground below and how far it went up into the sky. It was magically green, pink, and purple, in the middle of spring, with a luminescent shine glowing off of it. Sheng stopped, and continued grazing it with her eyes. She wanted so much just to jump into it like a squirrel or to fly up to the highest branch like a bird.
Avira grabbed her arm, "Come on, we can go climb in the tree afterwards." Avira started picking up speed, and a moment later they were running hand in hand.
They came to a large hedge wall, that ran blocking the lake for which they were headed. Before they came to the end, Avira pushed Sheng up against the hedge, just a little too hard. Sheng almost fell back into the hedge which towered at least 7 feet over them. Avira pulled Sheng back onto her feet before she was lost in the hedge.
"Sorry." Avira brushed Sheng off.
"What was that for?" Sheng was nearly about to cry.
"Hey, hey, no crying." Avira pointed a finger in Sheng's face. Sheng rubbed her left eye which was teary. "You have to promise me Sheng, that you're not going to cry. Not at all today."
"Why not?"
"Because I want you to be happy, especially on this day of all."
"Well, it's my..."
"I don't care Sheng. No crying. No crying at all...my lady. Or I'll call you my lady, and my mistress until next year."
"Then I'll get a new servant." Sheng tried to put her foot down.
"You and I both know we couldn't live without one another."
"True."
"Alright promise me now."
"Okay, okay, I promise. I won't cry."
"At all today. Come on say it."
"At all today."
"Alright, ready to see?"
"Yes, already!" Sheng eyes seemed highly annoyed. She was really just trying to act gruff, which she never was.
To be continued....stay tuned to find out what's behind the hedge down at the lake.

Chapter 1 Part 1
So I'm blogging to start a story. A fairy tale story, I think, but who knows what it will become.
A woman tapped her friend and servant on the shoulder. Her friend's auburn hair tilted slightly as she turned to face Avira. Avira was a remarkably beautiful woman, everyone thought so, except of course Avira herself. Avira instead peered her eyes into Sheng's, which made Sheng so nervous that she had an uncontrollable fit causing her to throw her eyes to the ground. Sheng admired Avira all the same, because Sheng was never really treated as an important person at all. Never to anyone. Even though she was a princess, she was always a nobody. A friend of theirs, Rechel, often joked how if the two were switched randomly one day, the whole kingdom would rejoice. It wasn't that Sheng wasn't beautiful, but she was different, very different indeed.
Avira's admiration for Sheng was so thorough that even though Sheng often told Avira to only act as her servant around others, Avira continued to serve Sheng despite her wishes. Sheng never wanted to be a princess, and hated the title and wished that one day she could be switched with Avira. They loved each other and spent everyday together frollicking all over the vast plains of the castlegrounds of the kingdom of Brookly. It was the only place where Sheng felt constricted only by freedom. For she always felt so constricted and bound up that she often gazed at her wrists expecting to see scars or cuts and scrapes from her bonds.
Avira admired and loved every ounce of her fair princess, even though she was so different indubitably.
